Turkey Point Lighthouse Jan. 18, 2008

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. We both have a bit of a fascination with lighthouses, and try to visit as many as we can, wherever we go.

En route to Philadelphia, we stopped at this lighthouse, which is located in Elk Neck State park in North East, MD. It was a little tough to find. The park road sort of ends in a residential neighborhood, then resumes at the end of the neighborhood. Once we figured that out, we finally made it to the lighthouse parking lot. After we parked, it was a walk of almost a mile to get to the lighthouse on a dirt path that was a mess after the previous evening's Maryland "snowstorm" (in other words- rain). But we were rewarded with amazing views on a beautiful, sunny day.
